Jerry Falwell Biography - Jerry Falwell, an American pastor and televangelist, was born in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1933. Falwell is the founder of the Moral Majority. Jerry Falwell was ordained in 1956, and began televising his services in 1968. In 1979, Falwell created the Moral Majority, a group dedicated to promoting its conservative and religious Christian-centric beliefs via support of political candidates.
